BESL environment works achieve recognisation with two national awardsThis year the environmental works undertaken as part of the Broadland Flood Alleviation Project has received national recognition with two major awards. Working in an area with the equivalent of National Park status the environmental undertaking represents a substantial part of the defence works and the sheer scale and quality of the works, and the subsequent representation to the awarding bodies, saw BESL receive two industry leader awards.
BESL win at the British Construction Industry Awards
Broadland Environmental Services Limited (BESL), a partnership scheme between Halcrow Group Limited and BAM Nuttall Limited working for the Environment Agency, has won the 2011 British Construction Industry Award (BCIA) Environmental Award.
Commonly regarded as the top industry award for schemes both great and small the nominees collected in London for the ceremony held on Wednesday 12th October. The awards recognise building, civil engineering, renovation, regeneration, the environment, building practice and the Prime Ministers award for better public building.
The shortlist represents the "top end" of the construction industry and BESL are delighted to see their work recognised this way by their peers.

Temporary footpath closuresIn the course of the construction of flood defence works we, unfortunately, are required to close public rights of way temporarily for health and safety purposes. Where possible diversion routes are provided and/or alternative routes are indicated.
Please click on the links below to read the current list of footpath closures.
The second link takes you to the page where the route maps are available for viewing.
We apologise for any incovenience the closures might cause but in the interest of health and safety, both of the general public and the workforce, the closures are required. Once construction work is finished and the banks sufficiently settled and revegetated then we will re-open the affected route, this may involve periods where there appears to be little or no activity on site. ALL PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY ARE RE-OPENED AT THE EARLIEST, SAFEST OPPORTUNITY.
Thank you for your understanding. Click here to read about the latest footpath closures

The maps are located in the Documents for Download section on the page.
